Redesigned foreplay experience
Members of the Virginia Athletics department have been working for the past 15 months to reimagine the Scott Stadium pregame experience and presentation. While many great Cavaliers traditions return, this year’s pregame program includes some nods to the past and a number of new elements, including:
- Reconfigured graphics for the starting grid
- An interactive performance by the Cavalier Marching Band designed to engage the audience
- A revised team introduction sequence that highlights the unique tradition of the Cavalier on Horseback
Cavalier Marching Band shows
The Cavalier Marching Band has created six dynamic halftime shows in addition to the aforementioned refresh of the precision pregame show. These are:
- Richmond (31 August) – Brass bands!
- Maryland (September 14) – Life is a beach
- Boston College (October 5) – The wild seventies
- Louisville (October 12) – CMB goes to the countryside
- North Carolina (October 26) – fashion
- SMU (November 23) – star Wars
In addition, the CMB will introduce brand new uniforms this season.
- Integration of various stadium technologies such as LED lighting when the Cavaliers enter the field .
- A partnership with Image Engineering, one of the world’s leading sports pyrotechnics companies, to revitalize pyro and cryo options with cutting edge technology suitable for both day and night games. In addition, pyro options will now be used on all scores and big moments at all six home games.
T-Shirt Games
Virginia Athletics is incentivizing pre-game attendance this season by giving away 10,000 jerseys one-time at three different games this season. Come early to grab a commemorative jersey at the following games this season:
- Maryland (September 14) – Rivalry renewed
- Boston College (October 5) – Homecoming
- SMU (November 23) – Red, White & Hoo
In addition, the first 30,000 fans to walk through the gates at the season opener against Richmond will receive a special UVA Strong shirt as part of UVA Strong Day.
Shuttles
After piloting shuttle services during the 2023 season, Virginia Athletics will implement full-service shuttles to and from several free parking lots on game days, including Fontaine Research Park, JPJ and the Darden lots. Shuttles will begin three hours prior to kickoff and remain active until one hour after the conclusion of each game. While the above lots have accessible parking, visitors requiring a wheelchair-accessible shuttle should park in the park. A free shuttle from the park to Scott Stadium will also be available for wheelchair users.
In addition, a shuttle from JPJ can be taken directly to Wahoo Walk three hours before kickoff.
