Virginia father gives son a $1 million lottery ticket for his wedding

A father from Virginia gave his son a $1 million lottery ticket as a wedding present.

Aaron Andrews only got married in April and has been living with his wife in his father’s basement in Prince William County ever since, according to Virginia Lottery News.

His father, a frequent lottery player, eventually purchased a ticket for the Virginia Lottery’s Cash4Life promotion.® drawing and got the first five winning numbers right. The prize was either $1,000 every week for life or a one-time cash payment of $1 million.

Virginia Lottery News reports that he decided to give the ticket to his son as a wedding gift, and his son opted for the cash payout, so the $1 million wedding gift was the icing on the cake.

“I have a great dad who has always looked out for me!” Aaron told Virginia Lottery officials when the winning ticket was claimed.

The winning ticket was purchased at PJ’s Neighborhood Variety Store, 19122-A Fuller Heights Road in Triangle. The winning numbers for the August 3 drawing were 25-35-36-41-59 and the Cash Ball number was 2.

Andrews also told Virginia Lottery News that he is looking forward to buying a home with his bride.

His father jokingly told the outlet, “That was the best way to get him out of my basement.”
