Bandt, Virginia (Christopherson) (90) passed away on July 23, 2024 on Madeline Island for a family reunion with her 3 children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Virginia (Ginny) was born on March 23, 1934 in Minot, North Dakota to Alvin and Carrie Christopherson. She graduated from Revillo High School in 1952 and completed nursing school at Swedish Hospital in 1956. Shortly after graduating from nursing school, Ginny married Calvin Bandt, and together they raised three children in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Her family and friends were always most important to her and she was glad to have a strong bond with both of them. The depth of the many bonds she made was evident in the way people embraced and loved her throughout her beautiful life and in her final moments. Ginny’s bonds with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were strong and guided by the spirit of unconditional love. She loved her close circle of friends who were with her throughout her life, and her friends and family loved her energy, bright smile, courage, and eternal optimism and faith. Ginny’s husband, Calvin Bandt, predeceased her and leaves behind three children, Cindy (Randy), Brian (Kami), and Linda (Steven); eight grandchildren, Kristofer, Sarah, Graham, Bryn, Mars/Mara, Tyra, Carly, and Anders; four great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Calvin, Silas, and Liala; and two brothers, Jim and Noel Christopherson. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, August 20, at Mount Calvary Lutheran, Excelsior, MN.
