The couple spent the day traveling through the swing state before heading to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

The couple and their spouses stopped in Allegheny and Beaver counties.

The region is a hotly contested area and is widely viewed as a must-win spot for the Harris-Walz team.

The vice president greeted his supporters at the airport hangar in Moon Township before boarding a bus and driving to a call center in Rochester Borough. Beaver County voted red for former President Trump in 2016 and 2020.

“This campaign was born out of love for our country,” Harris said. “Our country will be as strong as our willingness to fight for it.”

She and Governor Walz then spoke with firefighters in Aliquippa and the Quips football team at “The Pit.”

“Someone has to take that step and someone has to step in. You look around and know, I trust him. Our country is not that different,” said Governor Walz.

“The Bus” Jerome Bettis joined the ticket holder on the bus.

The campaign team then traveled to Sheetz, where the Vice President spoke with guests at Primanti Bros. in Moon Township before boarding Air Force Two again.

There was resistance on the streets. In several places, Trump supporters lined the streets and sidewalks.

The DNC begins on Monday in Chicago.
