Police said they found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived at the scene. Officers administered first aid until emergency personnel arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Columbia Police have not released the extent of the victim’s injuries, but our news partner KMIZ reports he was critically injured.

An employee of a nearby business in Nifong told 939 the Eagle she saw 22 police vehicles at or near Buffalo Wild Wings after the shooting. 939 the Eagle went to the restaurant Sunday afternoon and a sign on the front door says it is closed today.

One of the men inside the Buffalo Wild Wings at the time of the shooting was Mizzou student Aidan Whiting. He told KMIZ that he and others were inside watching a UFC fight when he saw someone walking or running toward the side door. He thought it was a fight until he heard gunshots.

The CPD investigation is ongoing: Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS. You can call this number anonymously and according to CPD, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500 if you provide information that leads to an arrest.
