Unpacking the Georgia Summer Nationals at Cordele Motor Speedway
– It was a nearly perfect night for Bubba Pollard. The driver from Senoia, Georgia, won his fourth race of the 2024 ASA Southern Super Series season and his second in a row at Cordele Motor Speedway. With the win, Pollard moved into second place in the season standings with one race to go. This is the first time since 2018 that Pollard has won four races in the series.
– Michael Hinde is knocking on the door for his first win and it could come as early as the next race. Earlier in the season his best finish was fourth place. This year alone he has improved with a third place in Montgomery and a second place at the Georgia Summer Nationals at Cordele Motor Speedway.
– After setting the fastest time, Casey Roderick moved into second place all-time in the series with seven pole awards. He and Matt Craig have each won two Engine Builder Fast Time Awards this season and have now won a total of seven in their careers.
– Speaking of Casey Roderick, despite a seventh place finish in the last race, the championship trophy awaits him in Pensacola. His considerable lead will allow him to take the green flag and win his third ASA Southern Super Series title, which is a record. His work won’t be over there though, as he will be battling for the Deep South Cranes Blizzard Series, currently second behind Stephen Nasse.
