BUTLER, PA — Former President Donald Trump announced new details Monday night about his plans to return to the place where he nearly died last month.
In an interview with Elon Musk on X, Trump promised to return to Butler for a rally in October. He said he would finish his July 13 address, which was cut short because of the assassination attempt on the grounds of the Butler Farm Show.
Trump did not give a specific date or location for the rally.
Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, suffered an ear injury in the incident in which three bystanders were shot, one fatally.
Former fire chief Corey Comperatore, 50, of Sarver, Butler County, died while protecting his family from the gunfire of Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park. David Dutch, 57, of New Kensington, and James Copenhaven, 74, of Moon were injured. Crooks was killed by a U.S. Secret Service agent.

Trump had previously stated on his social media page “Truth” that he would pay his last respects to the victims of the shooting when he returned to Butler.
Trump held an event in Harrisburg last week, his first appearance since the Pennsylvania shooting. His campaign is planning another event in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.
