LINCOLN, Nebraska – Nebraska Treasurer Tom Briese is launching a new website for the Nebraska State Disability Support Initiative.

The website, www.givetoenable.comacts as a crowdfunding website for people with disabilities.

“The plan is really a win-win for everyone involved,” Briese said. “There are some nice tax breaks for people who contribute to it. The earnings from these plans can grow tax-free and the beneficiary can withdraw the money and use it for disability-related expenses.”

According to the website, donors filing income taxes in Nebraska can deduct up to $10,000 for contributions to accounts. For married taxpayers filing separate returns, the amount is $5,000.

“These contributions can be deducted from your income tax return up to a certain amount,” says Briese.

Briese was excited about the launch of the new website and hopes that donors will continue to donate to a good cause.

“We hope to encourage further contributions to these accounts to help people with disabilities prepare for future expenses,” Briese said.
