You can watch Alexander Lincoln’s new film In From the Side now on Netflix in the UK.
The former Emmerdale star, known to soap fans for his portrayal of Jamie Tate, stars in the rugby queer drama from writer-director Matt Carter.
Co-written with Adam Silver, In From the Side follows two players, rookie Mark (Lincoln) and rugby star Warren (Alexander King), who have a drunken sexual adventure that turns into an affair and jeopardizes their futures with their respective partners and on the field when it all comes out.

“It’s about pure lust, about throwing caution to the wind, about not really thinking about other people’s feelings and then it all blows up in your face,” Lincoln said of the film, which will first be released in 2022.
“I think everyone can relate to that, whether they’ve had an affair or not.”
Lincoln’s performance was shortlisted for Breakthrough Performance at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) and the actor himself described his nomination as “a huge moment” in his career.

“There were some amazingly beautiful performances this year, so I don’t feel guilty about not making the shortlist. Although I will of course be watching the ceremony with bated breath from the comfort of my sofa,” he explained in an Instagram post last November.
“I am immensely proud of this film and what it continues to do and how it resonates with audiences.”
The film also gave Lincoln the opportunity to open up about his sexuality on the social media platform and receive support from his followers. Although he had discussed it before, following the release of In From the Side he reiterated that he is not heterosexual.
“Thank you so much – I really appreciate it!!!! And no, I’m not straight,” he replied to a fan who asked if the actors in the film posed as gay.
“In From the Side” is available to stream on Netflix.
