A 21-year-old Gaithersburg man is dead after a shooting in Montgomery Village. Oliver Alexis Perez Fierro, 20, of Montgomery Village, has been identified as a possible suspect and suspected shooter. At around 12:15 p.m., Perez Fierro was arrested and taken to Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters. Police do not have a mugshot of the suspect.
According to police, “On Monday, August 12, 2024, at approximately 11:38 a.m., officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) 6th Precinct were dispatched to the 19300 block of Club House Road. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save his life, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The MCPD Major Crimes and Homicide Unit responded, investigated the scene, and interviewed witnesses. During the investigation, 20-year-old Oliver Alexis Perez Fierro of Montgomery Village was identified as a possible suspect and suspected shooter. At approximately 12:15 p.m., Perez Fierro was taken into custody and transported to Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters.
A search warrant was issued and executed at Perez Fierro’s residence, seizing items of evidentiary value. A warrant was subsequently issued for Perez Fierro’s arrest, charging him with first-degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a crime. This is believed to be an isolated incident between the two individuals.
Perez Fierro is currently being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit awaiting a bail hearing. The investigation is ongoing. The name of the deceased will be released within 24 hours after next of kin have been properly notified.” Photo courtesy of Google Maps
