August 18 – SFCC offers students free access to the fitness center
All students who earn at least one credit will receive free access to Santa Fe Community College’s William C. Witter Fitness Education Center this semester, the college announced.
“This initiative is designed to support the health, well-being and overall college experience of our students,” SFCC President Becky Rowley said in a press release. “Research shows that regular physical activity can reduce stress, improve mood and increase cognitive performance, all of which are critical to academic success.”
Eligible students have free access to the main fitness center, including cardio equipment, weight machines, and free weights, upon presentation of their student ID at the front desk. Access to other areas and fitness classes may require additional fees or separate registration.
