LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – A couple of storms that split across northeast Nebraska brought softball-sized hailstones near O’Neill Monday night.
This is hail with a diameter of about ten centimeters.
Any hailstone larger than 5 cm in diameter is considered significant by weather observers. With hail of this size, it was no surprise that damage to homes and windshields was reported.
Pictures arrived near Inman and Atkinson, and the hailstorm moved east.
