Sunday afternoon may have been cool and rainy for an August afternoon, but No. 6 Nebraska’s offensive line scored some points against Colorado State and helped the Huskers to their first win of the season (3-2).
Senior forward Sarah Weber led the Huskers, scoring her first Husker hat trick. Her goals in the 14th and 21st minutes gave Nebraska an early lead, and her goal in the 71st minute was the opening goal.
Both of Weber’s first-half goals were assisted by midfielder Florence Belzile. The first goal was also assisted by veteran defender Jordan Zade. Weber’s third goal was assisted by Zade and Gracie English.
Weber finished the game with ten shots, five of which were on goal. Both were career highs for the Gretna native.
But Colorado State did not go down quietly.
