Pirates Minor League News: Bubba Chandler Named Pitcher of the Week

This is one of the weekly updates on the Pittsburgh Pirates’ top 10 young talents.

Bubba Chandler, the top talent of the Pittsburgh Pirates, made a promotion to Triple-A Indianapolis and made his debut there. The 21-year-old shone in his first Triple-A start and was named the International League’s Pitcher of the Week.

In addition, some of the Pirates’ most promising players impressed. Among them was Nick Yorke, one of the newest farm hands in the system.

Full updates on the top 10:

1. RHP Bubba Chandler (Triple-A Indianapolis)

It was a good start for Chandler in Indianapolis. Things couldn’t have gone much better after moving up from Double-A to the next division.

Solometo returned to Altoona after working his way back from the developmental roster. It wasn’t an ideal return, but it was still encouraging to see him back in Double-A.

4. RHP Braxton Ashcraft (Triple-A Indianapolis)

  • Weekly statistics: NOT PITCHED – PLACED ON 7-DAY INJURED LIST JULY 12
  • Statistics 2024 (AA, AAA): 3-2, 2.88 ERA, 72 innings, 25 runs (23 earned), 65 hits, 12 walks, 76 strikeouts, 15 appearances/13 starts
