Penny Lancaster hints at ‘family problems’ as she weighs in on royal row between Meghan and Harry with heartfelt appeal

Penny Lancaster alluded to “family issues” when she shared her thoughts on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on Tuesday.

Lancaster, 53, appealed to the royal family to make peace, arguing that “life is too short” as she commented on the family split, apparently drawing on her personal experiences with difficult family dynamics.

Lancaster, who is married to 79-year-old rocker Rod Stewart, spoke out about the dispute between Prince Harry and Meghan and the rest of the royals on ITV’s Loose Women.

Lancaster’s co-star Christine Lampard explained in introducing the topic: “Prince Harry’s book Spare is due to be published in paperback soon – but publishers confirm there will be no further updates.”

Lampard wondered: “Is this a peace offering to his family? Would you welcome them being welcomed back into the royal community?”

The moderator turned to Lancaster and asked, “What do you think – and should they just try to fix everything?”

“I don’t judge one way or the other – you know, do I like Harry, do I think this or that?” Lancaster mused.

“I actually look at the bigger picture, just the family. We all struggle with family problems from time to time.

“I think it’s about potentially repairing some of those bridges, especially because there have been so many health concerns in the family.”

She revealed what she thinks should happen in the future, adding: “It would be nice if they got back together, life is too short.

The couple married in 2007 and regularly share pleasant updates about their lives together. However, TV star Lancaster says some aspects of life with Stewart are “difficult.”

While the couple’s declarations of love are regularly shown online, Lancaster recently admitted that things don’t always go smoothly for A-list celebrities.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, she said: “It was exciting to be dating someone who lived this extraordinary life. But I quickly realised that I would always be under observation. That was the difficult part.”

She also told the same publication in the past about Stewart: “He’s a workaholic and always on the go. I struggle to keep up with his training schedule. He trains three or four times a week, even on tour.”

She continued: “We like to take every opportunity to bring the family, children and grandchildren together.

“Part of the family lives in America, part in England, so it takes a lot of planning, but at least two or three times a year the whole clan comes together.”

Admitting that the dynamics of such a large family can be difficult, she continued, “There are the usual ups and downs in family.”

“You have to use a lot of diplomacy, patience and understanding. In the end, it’s worth it because you experience this wonderful bond that only a family can have.”
