Parts of two roads in the south of Lincoln closed for repairs

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KOLN) – Lincoln Transportation and Utilities announced Thursday that portions of two streets in south Lincoln will be temporarily closed beginning Tuesday and Wednesday.

The closures are as follows:

  • South 70th Street between Pine Lake and Yankee Hill Road will be closed starting Tuesday for track repairs. This work is expected to be completed by next Friday. StarTran Route 40-Heart Hospital will be detoured during this closure. The recommended detour is Pine Lake via 56th or 84th Street to Yankee Hill Road.
  • Yankee Hill Road westbound between 27th and 14th Streets will be closed to through traffic beginning Wednesday for roadway repairs. This work is scheduled to be completed by August 25. Westbound local traffic will have access between 27th Street and Executive Woods Drive. StarTran Route 13-South 13th will be detoured during this closure. The recommended detour is 27th Street to Pine Lake Road.

LTU recommends that travelers look for alternative routes during this time and exercise caution near the closures.
