Olly Murs’ wife Amelia reveals her newborn daughter’s sweet nickname after the singer expressed her grief
Olly Murs’ wife Amelia has revealed the sweet nickname she gave to the newborn daughter she shares with the Heart Skips A Beat singer.
On Wednesday, April 17, Olly and Amelia shared the news of their little one’s birth on Instagram, with a sweet snap showing them leaving the hospital with their daughter in a car seat. In the caption, Olly announced that they had named their first child Madison, writing: “Our little sister is here. Madison we love you so much already x.”
A few days later, Amelia shared a snap of a healthy shake she was making on her Instagram stories and revealed that they had named their daughter “Madi.” The fitness fanatic wrote: “My first protein shake since having Madi… and wow, it works differently.”
In her next post, she re-shared an Instagram story of Olly meeting a fan who had asked him if Madison was conceived at Madison Square Garden in New York, to which Olly burst out laughing and said, “I’m done.”
Amelia later shared a close-up of her baby in a baby onesie embroidered with the words “I love my daddy very, very much.” She captioned it: “I’m wearing my special pajamas tonight because guess who’s coming home after four days of work.”
Olly had just received the news that he had officially become a father for the first time and revealed how, despite his joy at having a baby, he had been struggling to leave his sweet little one behind to go to work.
Just hours after the announcement, Olly revealed it was business as usual for him as a pop star, confirming he would still be supporting Take That at their show in Leeds later that evening – which had turned out to be “terrible” as he had to leave his new baby daughter behind.
Olly shared the announcement with his fans on Instagram and began by thanking everyone for their congratulatory messages. He said: “I just wanted to pop in and say thank you so much for all the lovely messages. It’s been an incredible few days and little Madison is here and we are just over the moon and full of love.”
He then continued: “I just wanted to pop in and say to everyone coming to the Take That show in Leeds tonight – I’m here! Yes, I’m here and it was so awful saying goodbye to Madison and Amelia this morning – but the show must go on.”
He ended the post with another barrage of thanks before bluntly admitting that he can’t believe he’s now a father. Olly added: “I’m here and I just wanted to send you all my love and thank you for your support and love. I really appreciate it. I can’t believe I’m a dad!”
