Nebraska OC Marcus Satterfield is pleased with Dyan Raiola’s progress

Marcus Satterfield, offensive coordinator for the Nebraska football team, had high praise for quarterback Dylan Raiola when he spoke to the Big Ten Network earlier this week.

Satterfield is in his second season leading the Huskers’ offense. Last season, the offense ranked ninth in the Big Ten in total offense with 312.8 yards per game, including 13th with 135.9 passing yards per game. However, they were successful on the ground, ranking second in the conference with 176.8 rushing yards per game.

Now, Satterfield has several new playmakers on offense, most notably freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola. The offensive coordinator praised Raiola during his interview with Big Ten reporters earlier this week.

“I mean, he’s very mature when you talk to him, you’d think he was in his early 20s. He’s super competitive and he competes so hard in the game that sometimes you have to pull him away and tell him to be a kid. He stays up all night rewriting plays. He’s just fun to watch. He tries to be the best version of himself and since he’s been here, on Christmas, he’s really taken step by step step by step step by step and we like where he is and where all the quarterbacks are.”

Raiola will add value to a quarterback unit that was plagued by inconsistency and injuries last season. The wide receiver unit also received additional talent, most notably transfers Isaiah Neyor and Jahmal Banks. Satterfield will certainly have more talent at his disposal in what will be a crucial year for him and the program.
