While there is great excitement about the Nebraska football team entering the 2024 season, some concerns are emerging as fall camp progresses. There were so many concerns, in fact, that Huskers head coach Matt Rhule has closed a practice directly after his team had played a training game in front of the fans.
On Saturday, Rhule addressed some of the issues that have come up. While he talked about people like Daniel Kaelin, who impressedHe also talked about some players who still made mistakes, must simply work.
These performances have caused some coaches to question why people contribute certain things. There are some issues that the coaches have. And it has caused Rhule to Assistants a guideline“make sure we play with the right people.”
Among the players Rhule was unhappy with after a recent scrimmage was the second line of attack.
“They always act like they’re the second team,” Rhule said of the second-team offense. “And they’re supposed to act like they’re the first team… that group is it, and to me that says, OK, we need you guys to get involved.”
On the other hand, Rhule said he’s seen a lot of guys from the third team play well. That’s one of the reasons he wants his assistants to take another look at everyone. He wants everyone to see that just because someone is there doesn’t necessarily mean they stay on the second team.
The regular season is less than two weeks away, and things are getting faster now. The Nebraska football team needs to figure out who needs playing time, and quickly.
