Nebraska Football releases offensive depth chart for Week 1

The start of the 2024 Nebraska football season is quickly approaching and the Huskers have finally released their offensive lineup for Week 1. The Cornhuskers will host UTEP on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

During a meeting with the media on Monday afternoon, head coach Matt Rhule discussed the differences in the offensive playbook from last season to this season. He expressed his excitement about the development of the running back position following fall training camp.

“At the end of the day, for me, offensive football is about getting the ball in the hands of guys who can make plays and letting them make plays. I’ll go back to the running backs. It’s really about when we block four, we can’t just get four anymore. Four has to become 12. Let’s block four and it has to become 80. That’s the step we need to see.

Rhule is also excited to see how many viewers will see the depth at wide receiver and how that position will help develop the passing game.

We’ve got big receivers, so we’re going to face a really aggressive defense. They’re going to man-mark us, so we’re going to have to make a lot of big catches. Instead of trying to figure out the perfect play, we’ve just got to call plays and let the guys win. When you’ve got guys you believe in, you’ve got to let them win. Satt (Marcus Satterfield) has got it all. The offense has been working really hard on those plays since the first week of June. We’re not going to go out there and reinvent the wheel. We’re not going to trick anybody. We know what we’re doing, we’re going to go out there and do it and see what happens.”

Nebraska and UTEP will face off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday and can be seen on Fox. Four possible candidates are listed for the running back position and Rhule has said all four will play on Saturday.
