Missouri expands the playing surface at Faurot Field with two brand partners.

The school will soon announce multi-year partnerships with Columbia-based Shelter Insurance and EquipmentShare, an equipment solutions provider founded in 2015, that will include on-field logo design beginning this fall.

An official announcement is expected on Tuesday. Financial details were not disclosed.

“For me personally and for our athletic department – as for all athletic departments – as we continue to evolve in our field, it’s going to prove increasingly important to find those kinds of resources, find those partnerships and be willing to look at things differently from our perspective as athletic departments and universities,” Missouri AD said Lord Veatch said SBJ.

As part of the agreement, the logo of Shelter Insurance, whose roots in Missouri go back more than 75 years, will be placed on the northwest 25-yard line. The logo of EquipmentShare will be displayed on the southeast 25-yard line. The logos will be first seen at the Tigers’ home game against Murray State on Thursday, August 29.

The sponsorship deals were made by Mizzou Sports Properties, the local branch of the school in Learfield, which is managed by GM. Josh Pell.

“As Laird said, it’s really about finding the right partner, especially when you have such a national presence and brand presence,” said Kim DamronPresident of Learfield’s Sports Properties. “I think this (partnership) is a perfect marriage of great exposure for two great partners.”

Missouri is the second SEC school to announce a field sponsorship, following Tennessee’s recent announcement of a partnership with Pilot.

These measures come after the NCAA’s Football Rules Committee and Playing Rules Oversight Panel adjusted the rules in June to allow corporate advertising on the field.

SEC rules require that surface advertising must be sold for the entire season and is only allowed during regular season games, but not, for example, during home games of the College Football Playoffs.
