Do you still want to go to the season opener at Mizzou?
Missouri’s football team opens its 2024 season on Thursday night against Murray State at Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri. The Tigers finished No. 11 in both the US LMB Coaches Poll and the preseason AP Top 25.
With third-year starting quarterback Brady Cook and star wide receiver Luther Burden III entering their respective final college football seasons, Mizzou is among the teams considered candidates for a spot in the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff.
In a speech during fall training, Mizzou coach Eli Drinkwitz urged MU fans not to wait for high-caliber opponents later in the season, but to look forward to his MU team at the season opener and to host the game at a sold-out venue.
The Tigers went into the game as favorites with a lead of 46.5 points.
