Michelle Pfeiffer heads to Montana.
The Oscar nominee will star in and executive produce “Madison,” a new series written by Taylor Sheridan set in the “Yellowstone” universe, Paramount announced Thursday.
Set in the present day, Madison is the sequel to Yellowstone that has been promised since it was announced that the second half of season five would air in November. These final episodes will conclude the series and will feature no original star, Kevin Costner.
The main series about the Dutton family – who have owned a vast, enviable piece of land in Montana for generations – was a landmark for the Paramount streamer, with the fifth season’s premiere episode in 2022 being watched by 12.1 million people.

Another “Yellowstone” prequel entitled “1944” is also planned.
Pfeiffer’s show follows a New York family now living in the Madison River Valley in central Montana and tackles themes of grief and human connection.
Her last television appearance was in 2022 as Betty Ford in Showtime’s “The First Lady.”
A release date for “Madison” has not yet been announced.
