Cuban in particular is a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, whom he has supported since growing up in the Pittsburgh suburb of Mount Lebanon.
But despite everything and the fact that the pirates are one of the worst And Cuban says he will not buy the team, one of the cheapest organizations in Major League Baseball.
Not because he doesn’t want to, but because he can’t…
If someone offered you a job paying $25 million or more a year that involved standing in the town square with the entire city of Pittsburgh yelling at you, would you take the job?

Jon Linder, host of the Miami Sports radio show, tweeted Wednesday night that Cuban told him he couldn’t buy the team even if he wanted to.
“I talked to Mark Cuban about buying the team in 2006,” Linder wrote. “He loves the Pirates but says the owners will NEVER sell because of their business model. They have no obligation to spend money so they never do, and they make huge profits every year from television and everything else. A lost cause.”
Mark Cuban says Bob Nutting won’t sell the Pittsburgh Pirates to anyone
Cuban appeared to confirm that story Thursday morning.
If someone offered you a job that paid $25 million or more a year, where you stood in the marketplace and had the whole city of Pittsburgh yelling at you, would you take that job? That job is owning the Pirates. Why would they sell,” he said. wrote.

The Pirates are currently nine games under .500 and in last place in the NL Central. They are projected to miss the playoffs for the 10th consecutive year and have the second-lowest payroll in the league.
But owner Bob Nutting, who bought the team in 2007, doesn’t seem to care. He’s still raking in a lot of money.
And even though fans obviously hate Nutting and have been calling for him to sell the team for years, nothing seems to be changing.
