FAYETTEVILLE, Georgia. – Rapper Rick Ross is accused of violating federal disability law at his major car show in Georgia.
The third annual Rick Ross Car & Bike Show was held in June at Ross’ sprawling Fayetteville mansion, a 235-acre estate known as “The Promise Land.”
Thousands of car and hip hop fans gathered at the event to check out the cars and listen to live music. However, TMZ reports that one man didn’t get a chance to attend the event and is now filing a lawsuit.
According to TMZ, Darris Straughter said organizers promised to send a wheelchair-accessible shuttle to the parking lot to pick him up, but it never showed up.
Straughter claims he sold his car to pay for the show ticket, travel and accommodation.
The man says he contacted event staff weeks in advance to let them know he needed proper accommodations for his wheelchair and was assured everything would be fine. After waiting for hours and never getting in, organizers promised him a refund, Straughter said, but he has yet to receive one.
Straughter is suing for damages for breach of contract and violations of the American Disabilities Act.
The rapper has not commented on the lawsuit.
