According to the Metropolitan Police Department, a man was found dead late Sunday evening near South Maryland Parkway and East Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas, apparently from gunshot wounds.
Officers arrived at the scene shortly before 10 p.m. after receiving reports of a man lying near a dumpster. When they arrived, paramedics pronounced the man dead.
Preliminary investigations by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Unit indicate that the victim was in conversation with several people in the area prior to the shooting. Those people fled the scene before police arrived.
The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim and the cause and manner of death in due course.
