A Ruston man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly beating an ex-girlfriend at her Lincoln Parish residence.
Jeffery A. Rickman, 61, was arrested around 3:40 a.m. Sunday morning for assault on his partner after Lincoln Parish officers investigated an incident on Oak Alley Drive.
The victim told officers that Rickman showed up at her home drunk, screaming and banging on the back door. She opened the door to confront him and Rickman allegedly came in and pushed her into the bedroom and onto the bed. An argument ensued and Rickman punched her in the face with the palm of his hand. The victim said Rickman then put his hands around her neck, cut off her air and told her to kill her.
The victim was able to get on his phone and call 911, and Rickman left the scene. Officers found the victim physically and emotionally distraught, according to their report.
Rickman was found at his apartment in the North Village Apartments on Timberline Court. He admitted to being at the victim’s home, but no physical incidents occurred.
Rickman was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. At the time of publication, bail had not been set.
