After starting the 2023 season 4-0, the Madison football team finished the season 5-4, losing its final four regular season games.

As head coach Nate Teichgraeber enters his second season as coach of the Bulldogs, expectations remain high despite key players graduating. The Bulldogs return seniors Colton Isch, Packer Bolinger and Cade Hurlburt and juniors Octavian Dean, Lane Smith and Drake Loveall.

Madison’s first three games of the season include tryouts at Lebo and Burlingame, while also hosting Hartford. The Bulldogs will play in the district against defending 8-man division state champions Lyndon and Chase County, as well as Northern Heights, which returns to the Lyon County League and will play its first season of 8-man football.

Madison will be featured three times in KVOE’s Area Game of the Week on Country 101.7 FM: Sept. 20 at Burlingame, Oct. 4 at Northern Heights and Oct. 25 against Chase County. The Bulldogs open the season Sept. 6 at Lebo.
