Lincoln is close to unveiling a redesigned Navigator, and the automaker delivered a preview Tuesday in the form of a teaser video offering glimpses of the new full-size SUV.
The current fourth-generation Navigator was launched for the 2018 model year and has been redesigned for 2022.
The new navigator debuts on Thursday and should hit showrooms late this year or early next year as a 2025 model.
Lincoln has not released any further details, but the teaser video shows details such as an illuminated logo in the grille, a simplified steering wheel design and a center console with a gear selector and a crystal glass rotary knob.
Although the new Navigator is touted as a redesign of Lincoln, it is likely rather a big update of the current Navigator, meaning the platform and powertrain will likely remain largely unchanged.
The only powertrain of the Navigator 2024 is a 3.5-liter V6 with two turbochargers which is coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission and drives all four wheels as standard. Hybrid drive from the related F-150 is possible. The setup combines the twin-turbo V6 with a single electric motor.
Lincoln had planned to launch an electric Navigator, and reports say it will launch in late 2026. However, Ford said in April that it would delay the release of many of its next-generation electric vehicles and instead look to launch more hybrid models.
