Virginia Tech has released its roster for its season opener against Vanderbilt. There weren’t many surprises: Drones at quarterback, Tooten at running back, and seemingly all the usual suspects.
Brent Pry had spoken at length during fall camp about how much Layth Ghannam had stood out, running with the first team and getting playing time across the entire offensive line.
The main lineup that stood out for Pry on his team consisted of Xavier Chaplin at left tackle, Layth Ghannam at left guard, Braelin Moore at center, Kaden Moore at right guard, and Parker Clements at right tackle.
According to the preliminary lineup before the game against Vanderbilt, Pry will stick with this lineup. Brent Pry had a lot of talented players to choose from and there were players that will rotate like Brody Meadows, Johnny Garrett, Bob Schick and Montavious Cunningham.
Layth earned the starting spot and Brent Pry said: “I think this combination is our favorite.”
