Vice President Harris will travel to North Carolina for a campaign event on Friday, her office said.
The event in Raleigh, North Carolina, is expected to be a policy-oriented rally where she will discuss “her plan to lower costs for middle-class families and combat corporate price gouging,” a campaign official told The Hill.
Harris said during a rally in Las Vegas on Saturday that if elected president, she would support repealing the tip tax, a policy initiative popular during former President Trump’s campaign. The proposal could cost as much as $200 billion over 10 years, a budget watchdog estimates.
Friday’s trip is Harris’ eighth visit to North Carolina this year. She canceled a trip to the state last week because of Tropical Storm Debby.
The Harris campaign, and previously President Biden’s re-election campaign, focused on flipping North Carolina in November. Former President Trump won the state in 2020.
Harris will also travel to Maryland on Thursday to attend an event with Biden that will also discuss cost-cutting plans.
Meanwhile, her running mate, Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, is on his first solo campaign tour. He will be in California on Tuesday and will then travel to Colorado, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York.
