Holly Madison refuses to talk about diets in front of her children.
The 44-year-old actress, who was one of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends for 15 years at the late magazine owner’s famous home, has 11-year-old daughter Rainbow and seven-year-old son Forest with her ex-husband Pasquale Rotella. She explained that while she is “focused on” maintaining a healthy lifestyle, she would not discuss it in front of her children.
She told Us Weekly: “We place a lot of emphasis on healthy eating. I’m very careful not to say anything about diets or weight or anything like that in front of my kids. If they try to talk me into something unhealthy, I just say, ‘Oh, I’m doing something for my health.'”
The former “Girls Next Door” actress said she did not want her daughter to suffer from body image issues or seek “validation” through her appearance because she herself had similar experiences at her age.
She said: “We don’t want her to focus too much on her looks or try to get attention or recognition for her looks. I think we’ve been really successful so far. She’s definitely on a better path than I was at that age. I was trying to look a certain way even at 11.”
Holly was recently asked if it was true that the bathroom pipes had to be replaced because so many girls were vomiting and suffering from bulimia while staying in the villa. She admitted that it was “sad” to see so many women suffering at that time.
She said: “On my podcast (‘Girls Next Level with Bridget Marquardt’) we talked to staff and other people who were there at the time that this allegedly happened and I guess that was a thing. There were people struggling with really bad eating disorders when I was there and it was always sad to see that.”
