Georgia woman arrested after car chase in Broken Arrow

By John Dobberstein, Editor

A 34-year-old Georgia woman was arrested Monday following a high-speed chase, according to Broken Arrow police.

At around 4:30 p.m., police responded to a fraud call at the Bank of Oklahoma branch at 1520 N. 9th St. Officers found the vehicle of the suspect, Amanda Williams, in the bank’s drive-thru.

After seeing police speed away, at times going 90 mph in a 40 mph zone, and also driving into oncoming traffic, said Ethan Hutchins, BAPD’s public information coordinator.

Williams collided with three vehicles before eventually crashing in the 5000 block of South 177th East Avenue in Tulsa.

After the accident, Williams fled on foot into a nearby wooded area, but was arrested by authorities after a short foot chase. The investigation revealed that Williams attempted to use a stolen driver’s license to cash a stolen $2,000 check at the bank.

Officers also found 12.5 grams of fentanyl in her purse, as well as numerous credit and debit cards, checks, social security cards and other people’s driver’s licenses.

Williams was arrested for aggravated trafficking in fentanyl, fleeing from a crime, identity theft, possession of CDS paraphernalia, possession of stolen property and delivery of a forged document.
