If you’re having problems with your internet connection and have been complaining about it a lot lately, especially if you’re from Georgia, you’re not alone.
According to a study by technology experts at Crawford, a website building platform, the state ranks third on the list of states with the most complaints about the Internet.
The study was commissioned to better understand the number of complaints from each state and thus identify the states with the most widespread internet problems in the United States.
The technology experts analyzed Federal Communications Commission (FCC) data on internet complaints from 2014 to 2024 to determine which states had the most complaints.
Georgia ranked third on the list of the most internet complaints, with residents filing 146.59 internet complaints per 100,000 people, highlighting widespread frustration with the quality of internet services.
The states that have complained the most about their internet are: West Virginia, Louisiana, Georgia, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Oregon, Washington, Colorado and Mississippi.
The states that complained the least are: North Dakota, South Dakota, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Wyoming, Utah, Massachusetts, Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska.
Sam Crawford, Director at by Crawford, commented on the results:
“For many people, the Internet has become an indispensable part of their everyday lives and work. Some people also feel lost without the Internet in their free time.”
Since it can be frustrating to have no internet or a poor connection, we wanted to find out which states have the most complaints about internet quality. We found that West Virginia had the worst internet on average, measured by the number of complaints, while North Dakota had the best.
We also found that billing complaints and internet availability issues were the most common types of complaints across all states.”
