Former Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford won’t be saying “Go Dawgs” back when you see him on the road.

The strong-armed Los Angeles Rams quarterback said on Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” podcast that he doesn’t like fans yelling the school’s signature yelling in his direction.

“I get really uncomfortable when people bark at me or when I’m walking down the street and they say something like ‘Go Dawgs,'” Stafford said on the podcast. “I say ‘Yeah,’ and don’t give them the ‘Go Dawgs’ back. That just doesn’t sit right with me.”

Eric Sollenberger, better known on Barstool as the PFT commentator, told Stafford he saw videos of UGA fans on a flight “packed into Southwest Airlines and just yelling at the pilot,” and Stafford agreed that it seemed odd to him.

“Yeah, people are yelling at me,” Stafford said. “I’m just like, ‘Guys, uh, thanks.'”

Co-host Dan Katz, known as Big Cat, told Stafford to just start barking back.

“Yes, I have to,” Stafford said. “My wife (Kelly) is from Georgia, I have to make her proud.”

Recalling his favorite moments with Georgia, Stafford mentioned the “Blackout Game” against Auburn, “where we wore black jerseys for the first time, which was great, and we had a great game,” he said. He then recalled Georgia’s 41-10 victory over Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl that year.

“It felt like we should have been in the national championship game this year, but we kind of got passed up by not going to the SEC championship,” he said. “But we had a good time in New Orleans and beat Hawaii, so that was a good game.”

His least favorite game? A 2006 loss at Kentucky, when his helmet was ripped off his head and he had “a bruised face for a couple of weeks.”

Stafford mentioned his former Georgia teammate Kris Durham in one of his favorite NFL plays. Stafford met his former Georgia roommate on a run down the sideline during a game-winning drive against the Cowboys in 2013.

He also talked about Dominic Raiola being one of his favorite teammates. Raiola’s son Dylan is Stafford’s godson and was committed to Georgia for a time before decommitting and signing with Nebraska.
