Peacefully at Southbridge LTC in Cornwall, on Tuesday August 2024. Fernand Samson of Bainsville aged 89, just a few weeks short of his 90th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline (nee Vachon) Samson who passed away on February 24th 2024. Loving father of Richard, Diane Van De Ligt (Henry), Denise (Al) and Robert. Loving grandfather of Randy (Emily), Cindy Lynn (Luc), Valerie (Rens), Sylvie (Guillaume), Sada-Lee, Wyatt, Cecilia, Dominique (Kyria) and Stephanie. Fernand will also be missed by his adoring great-grandchildren Ayden, Dilana, Esmee, Sebastiaan, Emery, Sophia, Maxim, Samuel and Annabelle. Fernand also leaves behind his younger sister Simone Campeau (Gilles) and his nephew Gerald. He is predeceased by his parents, Emile and Alice (nee Chretien) Samson, and his granddaughter, Lynn Van De Ligt, and great-grandson, Emil Lacelle. Funeral arrangements are being arranged and directed by Munro and Morris Funeral Homes, 46 Oak St. Lancaster, ON (613) 347-3629. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 in the funeral home chapel. Ashes will be interred immediately following in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family will be present to receive condolences from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service. A reception will be held at the Lancaster Legion Branch 544, 119 Military Road, Lancaster, ON.
