Noteworthy: FC Tulsa will take a six-game unbeaten streak to Memphis after its wildest game of the season, a 3-3 tie Wednesday night at Western leader New Mexico United (13-6-3, 42 points). After New Mexico took an early 1-0 lead against his former team, Alexis Souahy scored two headers and Diogo Pacheco added another in stoppage time to give Tulsa a 3-1 halftime lead. Pacheco also assisted on Souahy’s first goal, but Harry Swartz scored twice in the first 20 minutes of the second half to preserve the tie for New Mexico. Before the game, Tulsa had allowed just two goals in its last seven games. Tulsa goalkeeper Johan Penaranda saved a penalty kick from Greg Hurst in the 21st minute. … Although Tulsa had to settle for one point, it was enough to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since the start of the season. … Saturday’s game is a rematch of FC Tulsa’s 1-0 win over Memphis on July 20 at ONEOK Field. Phillip Goodrum’s SportsCenter Top 10 goal gave Tulsa the win over his former team. … On Thursday, FC Tulsa acquired 6-foot-4 forward Aaron Bibout on loan from Major League Soccer’s LA Galaxy. Bibout, 19, scored eight goals and four assists for Ventura County FC in MLS Next Pro this season and ranks in the top 10 in many of that league’s offensive categories. “We are excited to have Aaron on the team,” FC Tulsa coach Mario Sanchez said in a press release. “With his size and athleticism, he will bring another dimension to our team. He will add additional depth and competitiveness to the team. He has scored goals consistently for Ventura County FC and we expect him to continue to do so with us.” Bibout made his MLS debut in 2023, making two appearances for the Galaxy. He also made five appearances for Detroit City in the USL Championship and scored 14 goals in 27 MLS Next Pro games.
