Experience the fall fun at RPAR

Ruston Parks & Recreation (RPAR) is gearing up for fall by offering a variety of activities for all ages – youth, adults and seniors. Whether you’re looking to make new friends, stay active or try something new, RPAR has something for everyone. To learn about and register for leagues and activities, visit RPAR’s website at http://www.ruston.org/registration. Here are the fall offerings available:

youth

  • Flag Football (ages 5-12)

Flag football returns to the Sports Complex football fields on Monday nights. Registration is open until September 3rd and the season runs from September 22nd to October 22nd. The fee is $65 for residents and $75 for non-residents.

Soccer games will be played on Saturday mornings on the soccer fields at the Sports Complex. Registration is open until September 3rd and the season runs from September 28th to October 26th. The participation fee is $65 for residents and $75 for non-residents.

  • Volleyball (ages 8-12)

RPAR is launching a new volleyball league this fall. This recreational league is for kids ages 8-12 and focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the game. Registration is open until September 3rd, so sign up quickly! The season begins September 26th and runs through October 22nd. Games are scheduled for Thursday nights. The fee to participate is $65 for residents and $75 for non-residents.

  • Legacy League (ages 5 and up)

The Legacy League is designed for our special needs community in Ruston and Lincoln Parish and is scheduled to take place November 2-23. This inclusive league will focus on a different sport each week and provide participants with the opportunity to explore and enjoy a variety of activities. Games will be held on Saturday mornings and the entry fee is $10 per player. 3×3 Basketball – Northern LA Power League (Ages 5-12)

RPAR is excited to announce a new partnership with Ten-10 Training to offer the Northern LA Power League at the Sports Complex. Registration is now open for this 5-week program. Teams will enjoy multiple games per night, with games taking place on Saturdays and two Fridays throughout the season. At the end of the season, there will be an All-Star Night with various competitions including a 3-point shootout, 8-foot dunk contest, high jump contest, and laser 3/4 court sprint test. Participation is $85 per player or $510 per team of six. Registration closes 9/23/24.

Adult

  • Softball for adults and mixed teams

After a successful co-ed summer season, our fall softball league kicks off with the men’s and co-ed divisions. Get your cleats out, gather your team and come out for some exciting games! Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning September 12th. The entry fee is $300 per team.

  • Pickleball League for Adults

Our fall pickleball league is back and better than ever! Games are held on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. and the league welcomes players of all skill levels – beginner, intermediate and expert. Seniors

Join us indoors at the Ruston Sports Complex for senior fitness classes! Our self-paced classes are designed for all fitness levels and schedules. Classes are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and are available through December 12th.th. All courses are free! Register at

Class descriptions:

  1. Cardio Mix: A dynamic and exciting class. Enjoy gentle dance, rhythmic movement and aerobic exercise that promotes heart health, energy and overall well-being in a group setting. Get ready to get up and put a spring in your step!
  2. Chair/Strength: Combine chair exercises with functional strength training in this total body workout class. This class combines seated exercises and light to moderate resistance training to improve strength and endurance that is transferable to many activities of daily living!
  3. Yoga: This class is all about improving flexibility, balance and range of motion. A chair can also be used to accommodate different fitness levels. This is a great addition to your Wednesday afternoon to enjoy some relaxation and fitness fun.

Tuesdays:

9:30 – 10:30 am | Cardio Mix

Wednesdays:

9:30 – 10:30 am | Cardio Mix

2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. | Yoga

Thursdays:

08:00 – 09:00 |Chair/Strength
