Yellowstone Fans, the era of the Dutton family is coming to an end. According to Chris McCarthy, head of MTV Entertainment Studios, another spin-off is in development. The series, titled The Madison, Michelle Pfeiffer (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) and Matthew Fox (Lost) in a story that takes place immediately after the events of Yellowstone. Much is still uncertain, but the future after Dutton is slowly taking shape.
According to Deadline, Fox plays “an independent bachelor who loves the outdoors” in “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection.” With Fox’s casting announcement, previous reports that Kurt Russell (Monarch: Legacy of the Monsters) to the series are now obsolete. Meanwhile, Pfeiffer plays newcomer Stacy Clyburn, a family matriarch who moves with her brood from New York City to Montana’s Madison River Valley after the death of her husband.
It is not yet known if any other Duttons will appear in the series, but rumors suggest that the rest of the cast will include newcomers Elle Chapman and Beau Garrett (The good doctor) as Pfeiffer’s daughters Paige and Abigail. Patrick J. Adams (Suits) plays Russell McIntosh, Paige’s husband, an investment banker.
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who brings emotional depth, authenticity and grace to every role,” McCarthy said. “She is the perfect anchor for the latest chapter of Yellowstone Universe, The Madisonfrom the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”
Of course, this new Yellowstone Spin-off opens a huge Pandora’s box. Paramount had previously announced that it was putting together a sequel series Yellowstonewith the title 2024with Matthew McConaughey. Rumor has it that Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and Luke Grimes will reprise their roles as Rip Wheeler, Beth Dutton and Kayce Dutton respectively. Paramount has not yet commented on the status of 2024, Bbut it sounds like 2024 now has the new title The Madison Coast. As THR Reports, The Madison will “Continue to explore the Dutton family dynasty with new characters and locations, as well as some existing characters.”
For fans, the future of Yellowstone urgently needs a roadmap. Since Kevin Costner left the project due to an ongoing feud with creator Taylor Sheridan, the future path is uncertain. Yellowstone Season 5 ended abruptly – and with a cliffhanger, I might add! – on New Year’s Day 2023. Costner then shot his own western film series entitled Horizon, while Paramount seemed to struggle to tell audiences what was next for the Dutton family. Outside the Yellowstone Prequels – The Wonderful World of Magic 1883 And 1923none of Sheridan’s other shows – including Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, lioness, And Bass Reeves –have ever had contact with the Duttons.
Season 5B of Yellowstone is expected to premiere on November 10. The remaining episodes will reportedly conclude the Dutton saga for the flagship series before the story continues in another form. Production on The Madison Rumor has it that production will begin this month, with a tentative premiere planned for 2025.. IIf all this turns out to be true, get ready to meet the Clyburns.
