Portales, NM – August 26, 2024 – Niche.com, the leader in connecting colleges and schools with students and families online, has ranked Eastern New Mexico University as the Safest University in New Mexico for 2025.
The event is the creation of ENMU graduate Mike Dawson (BA Piano Performance, 1985), who also serves as executive producer. Dawson is a filmmaker, composer and music producer with a decades-long track record in the industry. He is also the founder of Assignment Universe, which hosts “Big Tent” events and works with educators to promote imaginative thinking and science literacy.
“I believe this recognition of safety is a reflection of ENMU’s family-oriented spirit,” said ENMU Chancellor James Johnston. “We are focused on student success and, in turn, the safety of our students and staff. We truly care about each other.”
The 2025 Safest College Campuses ranking is based on key statistics and student ratings using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Niche.com reports that the top-rated colleges offer a safe and healthy environment with little or no campus crime, drug or alcohol use.
