NPP-USA Chairman in Tallahassee Shani Abubakari has reiterated that the ruling New Patriotic Party will win all parliamentary seats in the Northeast region in the upcoming elections.
He stressed that the NPP would win by a large margin and that there would be an unprecedented landslide victory for the NPP in the North-East region.
In the 2016 elections, the NPP won four of the six constituencies, including Walewale, Yagaba-Kubori, Yunyon and Cheripuni, while the NDC won Nalerigu and Bunkpurugu constituencies.
In the 2020 elections, Nana Akufo-Addo received 122,742 votes representing 51.37% while John Dramani Mahama received 112,306 votes representing 47.00%. In parliamentary seats, the NPP won 66.7% and the NDC 33.3%.
Speaking on Majority Radio’s Sheei Nim-Mohi news programme, Shani Abubakari predicted that NPP candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia would receive over 80% of the votes in the North East region, and expressed the view that the entire region was “united in Bawumia”.
He said significant progress had been made over the years, “but this time we want to increase our support from 51.7% to over 80%. It is possible.”
According to him, people will overwhelmingly vote for the NPP and its leading candidate to win in the 2024 elections.
“The number of infrastructure projects in the North East region is unprecedented. Some of our young people are employed in various ministries and agencies. And under the government of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, even more young people will find jobs,” he said.
NPP-USA Tallahassee Chairman has been working with the youth and people of the Northeast region for months to solicit their support for the NPP candidate of 2024.
“I have visited all the constituencies to meet the people and I can say that our people have a lot of love and appreciation for our father, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia. I have also met and spoken to 20 youth groups in the Greater Accra Region. The impact of these meetings is very refreshing. We will continue to advocate for our people to ensure that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is elected President of Ghana,” he said.
“Dr. Bawumia’s immense contribution as Vice President to the development of the country cannot be overemphasized. He has initiated many policies that have had a positive impact on the people of Ghana. The creation of a supportive digital space and platforms, especially the Ghana Card, is something Ghanaians can be proud of,” he added.
He said the NPP flag bearer would provide qualified leadership to all Ghanaians.
“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has already demonstrated great leadership qualities by bringing brilliant ideas to the Ghanaian economy, so we can trust him. He is the right man and our safest choice,” he said.
