PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Pop superstar Pink was in Philadelphia Sunday night and thousands of fans crowded into Lincoln Financial Field to see her perform, despite the threat of severe weather.

Normally Sundays at the Linc are reserved for football, but this Sunday was different. Instead of a sea of green, it was a sea of pink.

For Emma and Morgan Vilardi, it was a family affair. The two brought their mother to the show to celebrate her 53rd birthday. They say the threat of rain didn’t stop them from showing their mother a good time.

“It’s a birthday present, so we said, ‘Whatever happens, will happen,'” Morgan Vilardi said. “I’ve seen her perform in the rain before, so I wasn’t worried that it would be canceled or anything.”

Some fans were prepared to brave the rain and had brought their ponchos with them as a precaution.

Leah Rosenkrantz and her friends said they wouldn’t miss the chance to see Pink, who is originally from Bucks County.

“Her mother went to Atlantic City High School, where I graduated,” Rosenkrantz said

Rosenkrantz said it was incredible to see a local girl become a superstar.

“She is such a good role model for women,” Rosenkrantz said. “I feel like she is a very strong, independent woman.”
