A couple have opened their new clothing and accessories store on the site of a famous glassworks in Lancaster.
Stefan Johnson and Hayley Cox’s new store is called Humble Abode and sells products that reflect Lancaster’s vibrant culture and diverse styles.
Humble Abode and other nearby shops are located on the site of the former Abbott & Co glassworks on Chapel Street, near the bus station.
William Abbott’s studio and shop specialised in decorative stained glass from 1860 to 1996 and is part of the city’s Mill Race Heritage Area.
Stefan is from Lancaster and Hayley is originally from Lichfield in Staffordshire and moved to the city to attend Lancaster University.
Hayley also works for Lancaster City Council and the couple met there.
Humble Abode sells clothing that supports small independent brands, including skater and indie clothing, as well as accessories and art prints.
Hayley said: “Our mission is to offer high quality yet affordable fashion pieces and accessories that you won’t find anywhere else on the high street.”
