NORRISTOWN, Pennsylvania — A Montgomery County man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of his neighbor, who he stabbed to death following an argument that authorities say was sparked by loud snoring.

Christopher Casey, 56, of Upper Morland, was sentenced in Montgomery District Court last week to 11.5 to 23 months in prison, followed by three years’ probation, after pleading guilty to manslaughter and possession of a murder weapon.

Casey was originally charged with the premeditated murder of 62-year-old Robert Wallace, who lived in a duplex next door and shared a wall with him on January 14.

Prosecutors said Casey stabbed Wallace after the other man kicked in his first-floor window and threatened to kill him because of his snoring.

Relatives of the victim said he was unable to sleep because of the noise and his fatigue was affecting his life and ability to work. Casey apologized to them in court and called the fatal argument “regrettable.”

Defense attorney James Lyons said his client’s life had been threatened multiple times and that he was “a really good man who was not equipped to deal with this kind of sustained abuse and threats.”
