As the new fiscal year begins for Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County (Habitat MCTX), it is time to celebrate the extraordinary year that just ended. During the 2023-2024 fiscal year, 1,100 volunteers contributed approximately 14,000 hours to Habitat MCTX in numerous roles. These accomplishments are a testament to the tireless support of volunteers, donors and community partners.
Review of the past year
New homes sold: We have provided new homes to 11 deserving, hard-working families. Each family now has a safe, affordable place to call home. We thank our loyal house sponsors including Chevron Phillips Chemical and Phillips 66, John Cooper School, Momentum Title, Women Build Too – Can Do Crew, The Woodlands Methodist Church, Fitness Project, Oxy, St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, CenterPoint Energy, Ovintiv, Granite, First America Homes and the Longwell Family Foundation, as well as our loyal annual donors from Habitat MCTX.
Start of construction for new houses: Additionally, construction has begun on four new homes for Helen, Jeanette, Margaret, Mario and Ruth, bringing hope and stability to the future homeowners. We look forward to officially dedicating their homes later this fall.
Home Recycled: We renovated an existing property and prepared it for new owners to ensure it continues to serve a deserving family.

Important repairs in the house: Through our Critical Home Repair Program, we served 38 families and completed 46 individual repair projects. These repairs helped the owners maintain their homes by implementing basic safety and accessibility measures. We were able to complete these repairs thanks to funding from many generous partners, including LGI Homes, Houston Methodist, Texas Veterans Commission, Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation, Montgomery County Community Development, Tomball Regional Health Foundation, Montgomery County Community Foundation, Home Depot Foundation, Habitat for Humanity Housing Plus Grant, and our loyal annual Habitat MCTX donors. We invite everyone to read our blog about the inspiring stories of these families..
Restore: The store that builds homes. In 2023 – 2024, the ReStore received 4,849 donations of used home furnishings, building and decor items. The sale of these items contributed significantly to our mission and prevented 688 tons of material from ending up in landfills. We are excited to announce two new initiatives at our ReStore: an online presence on eBay and a dismantling program. Be sure to check them out.
Commitment to affordable housing
Habitat MCTX continues to support the community by administering 110 loans and helping families find safe housing and affordable mortgages. Our work would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our community partners.
Gratitude to the community
As Habitat MCTX looks forward to a new year, we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributes to the vision and mission. Your support is critical to helping us build a stronger community where neighbors and families thrive together.
Our 2024 – 2025 construction season officially begins September 12, 2024. We invite you to become an integral part of the Habitat MCTX family this year, whether as a committed donor, valued volunteer, or through a corporate sponsorship. Your commitment is key to opening doors to a better future for our neighbors across Montgomery County.
