A popular Kansas City ice cream shop will open a new location in Johnson County for the second time this summer.
Betty Rae’s will celebrate the grand opening of its new store in Prairie Village on Tuesday at 4 p.m., according to a company press release.
Betty Rae’s will be located at 5330 W. 95th St.
- The ice cream shop’s newest location in Johnson County will operate out of space in the Meadowbrook Shopping Center, right on the corner of West 95th Street and Nall Avenue.
- There it operates near other restaurants such as “The Bar” and “Another Broken Egg Café”.
- Once open, Betty Rae’s will be open Monday through Thursday from noon to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.
The first 50 customers get a free ice cream
- According to the press release, the first 50 customers in line at the grand opening on Tuesday will receive up to two scoops of ice cream for free.
- All customers will also receive free toppings on their ice cream all day Tuesday and free waffle cones all day Thursday.
- From Tuesday to Thursday, the store will also be accepting entries for a competition to win free ice cream for a year. Ultimately, ten winners will be announced.
This is the third JoCo location for Betty Rae’s
- The company opened another location in Johnson County, Merriam, in July, which also serves as a production facility and test kitchen.
- Betty Rae’s also has a location in Olathe that opened last fall.
- The original Betty Rae’s opened in 2016 in Kansas City’s Waldo neighborhood.
