Sedalia, MO. (8/18/24) Ayrton Gennetten looked to defend his throne as Missouri State Fair champion riding the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint in the Show-Me-State Throwdown Finale presented by Start2Finish TV, recording his sixth career league victory and earning the $5,000 prize in a standout main event at Sedalia’s historic half-mile.
When Brian Brown flew onto the smooth surface with twenty talented POWRi 410 competitors, he posted a fast qualifying time of 17.130 seconds. Gunner Ramey and Kameron Key each took a heat win.
The crowd was delighted at the green flag start as qualifiers Blake Hahn and Ayrton Gennetten lined up on the front row. Blake Hahn took the lead on the first lap, while Brian Brown, Ayrton Gennetten, Kameron Key and Gunner Ramey all finished in the top five.
After holding the lead until just after the halfway point, Blake Hahn battled with Brian Brown for the top spot. Brian Brown was able to take the lead on lap twelve, and Ayrton Gennetten followed him and took second place.
Brian Brown led the next five laps, feeling the presence of defending champion Ayrton Gennetten right behind him as the laps dwindled in front of a packed stadium.
With four laps to go, Ayrton Gennetten took the lead and was undeterred in an action-packed main race to take his third win of the season in the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint, while Brian Brown fought his way into second place late on.
“The first start was so tough and I could have timed it better, but then again, I wouldn’t have been in the position I needed to win tonight,” said Ayrton Gennetten at the victory ceremony in Sedalia, Missouri. He added, “Brian gave me a track from fourth and I took it. I did the wheelie from fourth to the track, but I didn’t get off the ground.”
Following closely behind was 11-lap leader Blake Hahn, who took the first green flag from the starting pole to claim the final podium spot. Gunner Ramey was among the frontrunners, taking fourth place, while Kameron Key rounded out the top five finishers in the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprints at the 2024 Missouri State Fair finale at Missouri State Fair Speedway.
