Axl Rose in the line-up for the Guns N’ Roses reunion

Guns N’ Roses have promised a return to past glory for their reunion, but at least one thing will be a little off: Axl Rose’s foot. The frontman announced Friday that he broke his left foot early in the reunion, which will still take place but Rose will be wearing a cast. “Right now he’s in a cast and we’re limiting how much weight he puts on it,” Rachel Triche, a Los Angeles-area orthopedic surgeon, said in a video posted by the singer. “So he’s having his stage set designed so he can still perform for everyone.” Triche said Rose, who was known for sprinting across the stage during Guns N’ Roses’ heyday, will have to be careful how much weight he puts on his foot for the next four weeks. Rose did not explain how he broke his foot but hinted that the mishap happened during the band’s surprise first reunion show last week at the tiny Troubadour club in West Hollywood. “This is what can happen when you do something you haven’t done in nearly 23 years,” Rose wrote when he posted the doctor’s video on Twitter. The show marked the first time since 1993 that the original lineup of Rose and guitarist Slash had performed together in public. The band’s 1987 debut, Appetite for Destruction, remains the best-selling debut album of all time, but the band’s period of fame was turbulent and tensions between Rose and Slash often arose. The band played Las Vegas again on Friday and Saturday before headlining the Coachella festival in Southern California next week. Guns N’ Roses, who have long received lucrative offers to rejoin forces, announced the reunion for the Coachella festival but have since planned a full tour of North American arenas.
