AG Bailey demands answers on the transport of illegal immigrants – Newstalk KZRG

JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri – Today, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey requested records from St. Louis and Kansas City authorities, as well as major transportation companies, to determine the extent of their involvement in the Biden-Harris administration’s smuggling of illegal immigrants through Missouri.

In addition, he sent letters to every county clerk and prosecutor in the state offering his support in ensuring that Missouri’s elections are conducted in accordance with the law despite the wave of illegal immigration.

“Under the administration of Joe Biden and border czar Kamala Harris, there has been an orchestrated lack of enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws. This failure has not only led to impeachment proceedings against high-ranking federal officials, but has also resulted in an unprecedented level of government action necessary to fill the vacuum created by the federal government’s ineptitude,” said Attorney General Bailey. “The chaos unleashed at our open southern border has devastated our communities, and now individual states, including the state of Missouri, must step into the breach as the federal government refuses to act.”

Last week, Attorney General Bailey filed a lawsuit against the Biden/Harris administration for refusing to release documents related to the flying of illegal immigrants into Missouri. Based on further evidence that the government has flown illegal immigrants into St. Louis and Kansas City, he has ordered the respective cities and their airports to release documents.

He also sent warning letters to all major airlines and transportation companies, reminding them that state law prohibits the knowing transit of illegal immigrants through Missouri.

In the letter to the transportation companies, Attorney General Bailey claims that Missourians “do not believe in mass illegal immigration and have enacted legislation to that effect. Under Missouri law, ‘transporting an illegal alien’ into or through Missouri is a Class D felony. As a business or organization that facilitates the transportation of persons into or through Missouri, you are subject to this law.”

General Bailey also sent letters to Missouri county clerks and state attorneys general offering assistance in ensuring the security of Missouri’s elections. In particular, given tight budgets, General Bailey offered assistance in prosecuting those who commit crimes while illegally in Missouri, especially those attempting to vote.

He wrote to county officials: “Among the most pressing issues facing our country today is the flood of illegal immigrants coming across our borders. Every state is grappling with a flood of negative impacts from nearly unrestricted immigration. It is estimated that there are over 72,000 illegal immigrants in the state of Missouri. I am writing to assure you that you are not alone in the fight to protect our communities.”

Voting without proper paperwork and registration or knowingly assisting a person who is not eligible to vote is a first class election misdemeanor under Missouri law. To vote in Missouri, a person must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Missouri, and at least 18 years of age. A photo ID must be presented so the county clerk can verify the identity of each applicant.

Attorney General Bailey specifically offered his team of prosecutors, victim advocates and other state resources to assist county officials.
