Check out Lincoln: Chances to climb into a basket at Lincoln’s Balloons Over 66 event are sold out, but looking at 34 hot air balloons – especially during night flights – is a breathtaking experience with your feet firmly on the ground. For the fourth year, the Lincoln Arts Institute is hosting an accompanying art fair in downtown Lincoln. Learn to juggle: Showmen and circus patrons gather this weekend for the annual Sweet Corn Circus in Uptown Normal. Enjoy endless corn on the cob, live music, a wrestling ring with Iron Spirit pros and Gamma Phi and CirqueMania routines, with pop-up workshops teaching juggling and other tricks. Also, stop by the Normal Theater for non-stop circus—they play The greatest showman, Killer clowns from outer space And The Circuswith Charlie Chaplin in the leading role. Calm down: Chicago jazz phenom Thaddeus Tukes brings the vibe to Jazz UpFront. Literally. Vibraphonist Tukes held court regularly in Bloomington-Normal while studying music therapy at Illinois State—so catch the concert while you still can.
